A Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rated lawyer, Daniel DeKoter attended Maurice-Orange City High School where he was National Merit Finalist and the winner of William Randolph Hearst Foundation Senate Youth Program scholarship. He was also a two-time Iowa High School Athletic Association State Track Meet gold medalist running the fourth leg on the 440 yard and 880 yard relays. Thereafter, he enrolled at the Northwestern College (Orange City) where he studied for one year and then attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan to receive a degree in Philosophy and a Minor in English. While studying at Calvin College, he was on his dormitory council and wrote for a student newspaper, the Calvin Chimes.

From 1977 to 1980, Daniel DeKoter attended the University of Iowa Law School to pursue his Juris Doctorate degree. He graduated in the top 20% of his law school class. While attending the law school, he also wrote for the Iowa Law Review. In June 1980, Daniel DeKoter passed the Iowa Bar Examination and started working with the Corcoran, Skiver and Zito law firm in Sibley. Over the years, Daniel has gained extensive experience in personal injury and product liability litigation, business litigation, business law in general, and estate planning, wills and trusts.
